URSZULA NAWROT
Graduated from Warsaw Film School. Since her early childhood Urszula Nawrot is associated with dancing and fascinated by the visual arts. After 15 years of dance and receiving a master class in ballroom dancing, she went to the side of the theater, in parallel she took and completed a master degree at the faculty of international relations. In 2010 she received a diploma in acting after passing the extramural exam of ZASP (the Polish Federation of Stage Artists). After several years working on stage and in films, she returned to fine art – mostly photography. Her photos, they are prizes in competitions, been published and exhibited in prestigious magazines. Meeting with Professor Leszek Madzik, theatre and photography became a turning point in her artistic interests. As a result, she decided on the implementation of auteur cinema thus expressing her admiration for fine arts. As a cinema creator she uses her experience of the photographer, and as a dancer, choreographer and actress as well as skills learned in Warsaw Film School. In directorial debut she focuses on a women, their sensitivity, experiences, searches. In her narration she relies on the values as a symbolism of the image, telling in nonverbal way, about a very specific problem. The idea of the created image is to be organic and intuitive rather than rational. In 2014 she founded the company production COPALFILM, to implement her projects.
She is a member of Polish Association of Filmmakers and Polish Phenomenological Society.
Hobby: Martial Arts. Urszula Nawrot has a 1st master degree in Wing Tsun Kung Fu.
